TÜBİTAK’s “Green Growth Technology Roadmap Plastic Sector Focus Group” convened under the moderation of Yavuz Eroğlu

Under the responsibility of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and TÜBİTAK, and coordinated by the Ministry of Trade, the "Technological Transformation/Development Expert Working Group" conducted within the scope of the Green Deal Action Plan continues its work on the “Green Growth Technology Roadmap (TYH)”. TYH studies are being carried out in six pilot sectors, including our plastics sector.

The "Green Growth Technology Roadmap Plastic Sector Focus Group" meetings, organized by TÜBİTAK, are moderated by Yavuz Eroğlu, Chairman of the Board of PAGEV, PAGÇEV, and SEM Plastik. The purpose of the study is to produce technologies suitable for green transformation in Turkey’s plastics sector and to ensure the widespread adoption of these technologies.

Within the Plastic Focus Group, critical production technologies and critical processes related to these technologies have been identified using a product life cycle approach. The work continues to finalize the technological needs and proposed solutions at the process-input-output stages, which will replace these processes with more innovative ones and make inputs and outputs clean and green, with contributions from representatives of the plastics sector.

Addressing the technological needs and proposed solutions of our sector representatives is crucial to prevent the Turkish plastics industry’s foreign trade from being adversely affected in the short and medium term by the legal regulations brought by the European Green Deal, and to ensure that our country achieves its 2053 net-zero targets in the long term.
