A Unified Industry Vision on the Roadmap for Single-Use Plastics, Marine Litter, and Microplastics

Mr. Yavuz Eroğlu, Chairman of the Turkish Plastics Industry Foundation (PAGEV) and also the Chairman of SEM Plastik, shared key insights regarding the recently announced national roadmap addressing single-use plastics, marine litter, and microplastics.

First and foremost, I would like to sincerely thank you for the collaborative steps we have taken together in this crucial field.

As Chairman of PAGEV, and in my capacity as Chairman of SEM Plastik, I am proud to declare that we, as an industry, have actively contributed to the "Roadmap for Single-Use Plastics, Marine Litter, and Microplastics", which has been developed at the national level in Turkey.

Highlights of Our Position:

• The roadmap aligns with strategies set forth by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

• At PAGEV, we play an active role in ensuring the implementation of policies related to waste management, circular economy, and recycling.

• While emphasizing the need to transition away from single-use plastics, it is also clear that this transformation must be supported not only by bans, but also by smart regulations, infrastructure investments, and conscious consumer behavior.
