An investment decision was made for printed yogurt cups. Additional investments were commissioned, including 4 thermoforming machines (all inline) and new 9-color OMSO offset printing machines. All old tilt-type thermoforming machines were sold, and the machinery park was upgraded with the latest technological innovations. An additional TFT 1000 machine was also commissioned.

High-speed thermoforming capacity was increased with the addition of new machines. For the first time in Turkey, a TFT 1000 with a daily capacity of 1,500,000 plates and an inline production line with a daily capacity of 2,800,000 cups were commissioned. The number and capacity of extruders were also increased.
2006
To meet the expectations of aesthetics and functionality, which are essential elements of a high-quality product, the SEM STUDIO design team was established. In the same year, a trade fair stand designed by this team received the Best Design Award in Valencia, Spain.

High-speed thermoforming capacity was expanded with the addition of new machines. New extruders were commissioned, and PET sheet production was launched alongside PS and PP sheet production.

SEM Global Foreign Trade Inc. was established on August 2, 2006, to manage the Group’s foreign trade operations.

Modern production facilities with 20,000 m² of enclosed space were built on land acquired in Silivri, Istanbul, in 2005. As of the beginning of 2006, all operations were consolidated at this facility.

In the company’s 25th anniversary year, turnover reached USD 3,000,000. Yavuz EROGLU, who had worked at every level of the company, was appointed General Manager.

The company moved into its own facilities built in the Malatya 1st Organized Industrial Zone.

On February 15, 1999, Namik Kemal EROGLU, Yavuz EROGLU, and Fatma EROGLU acquired the shares owned by the Elmas family.

Turkey’s first inline thermoforming machine investment was made for the production of automated PP cups.

With the acquisition of the first sheet extruder, the company began producing its own plastic sheets.
1994
Production began with the company’s first manual thermoforming machine. Shortly afterwards, the first automatic thermoforming machine was acquired, significantly increasing production speed.
1992
Production began in a rented factory in Hanimin Ciftligi, Malatya. The company introduced new German-origin machinery to Turkey and began producing cups using multi-cavity, hot-runner molds.
1987
On October 2, 1987, Cihan Kavukcu sold his shares to the Elmas family.
1986
The company began producing injection-molded crystal cups for Turkish Airlines, marking its entry into the foodservice packaging industry.
1985
On July 1, 1985, the company moved to the Dogu Industrial Estate in Yenibosna, Istanbul. In addition to agricultural spare parts, it began manufacturing plastic components for the telecommunications industry.
1983
On February 3, 1983, the company was converted into a limited liability company.

Namik Kemal EROGLU and Cihan KAVUKCU acquired the shares of Serdar SILAHTAROGLU.
1977
Namik Kemal EROGLU, who had worked at every level of Taral Agricultural Machinery Inc. since 1968 and most recently served as Commercial Manager, left the company and founded the business in Maltepe Industrial District, Bayrampasa, Istanbul, together with his former colleague Cihan KAVUKCU and Serdar SILAHTAROGLU, one of Taral’s shareholders, to manufacture plastic spare parts for agricultural machinery.
