Sem Plastik Received a Special New Product Development Award from Petkim!

Thanks to this product, thermoformed items can achieve much clearer and more rigid forms. The product development took place on November 29, 2010, at SEM Plastik A.Ş.’s Silivri facilities, under the SEM Plastik Technical Affairs Department and with the supervision of a team consisting of Petkim R&D and Sales Managers. A TFT inline thermoforming line with a capacity of 2,800 PP cups—one of only six in the world and the only one in Turkey—was used. For our contributions to these studies, Petkim honored SEM Plastik A.Ş. with the Special New Product Development Award during a ceremony held at its Aliağa Refinery in Izmir on the 46th anniversary of its founding.

The award was presented on April 4, 2011, by EBSO Assembly President Mr. Mehmet Tiryaki to Mr. Yavuz Eroğlu, Chairman of the Board of SEM Plastik A.Ş.

This new raw material has begun to be used in the Milkshake cups produced by SEM Plastik for McDonald’s. These products were introduced globally by Milliyken at the Düsseldorf Interpack Fair. The same products were also showcased by PETKİM A.Ş. at the Brazil Plastics Fair in South America, where they received significant admiration.
