Yavuz Eroğlu, President of Pagev, was elected to the Middle East Commercial Center (MECC) advisory board, and Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of TOBB, represented Turkey.The first MECC meeting in Washington was attended by US Secretary of State Jonn Kerry. At the advisory board meeting, the project "trade for peace in the Middle East" came up. In addition, examples of the Turkish entrepreneur's success story spread worldwide in other countries of the world in terms of being a model was put on the table.At the meeting of the Advisory Board in the USA, it was decided to take important steps in regional cooperation in the name of entrepreneurship and Turkish companies in the Turkish plastics sector to form larger power associations in the globalizing world.
WHAT IS MECCAN?The Middle East Commercial Centre (MECC) is an alliance of business leaders in the region of the private sector to promote the growth of domestic trade in the Middle East region, to support investments, and to reflect on the critical economic challenges and opportunities that are taking place today.Thanks to this coalition, a sustainable mechanism has been established for continuing cooperation to develop projects and promote public policies that contribute to greater business connections in the region. Within this framework, National Steering Committees were established in the region within MECC. These committees are monitoring the region and directing activities carried out by MECC in key focus areas in each country in the region. MECC Advisory Board determines the top policies of the center. This formation, led by TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu in Turkey, will come to the fore with its activities for the development of the region and for the creation of a peace environment.PAGEV, the “unifying force” of the plastics sector in Turkey, gives acceleration to the sector through its activities in the country as well as its activities spread around the world. The Turkish plastics sector, which contributes to exports with increasing production and employment power, is second in Europe and sixth in the world. Pointing out that their contribution to the Turkish economy is increasing day by day, Pagev President Yavuz Eroğlu, on the other hand, says that they have developed their consciousness of recycling through social responsibility projects carried out through pagev.Eroğlu said that they have a dynamic structure that gives the main and intermediate goods to many sectors and contribute to the export and expansion of Turkey in this framework and they follow a proactive growth strategy in order to reach all countries in the world from America to Africa, from Europe to the Middle East. Eroğlu underlined that they played the first place in Europe, organized in Istanbul Tüyap international plasteurasia fair and Istanbul plastic summit with the world plastic sector with roofing organizations to host the most important players said: “the USA, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and the world in all our work we continue our way to provide a global vision to the Turkish plastics industry,” he said.
