MIT Global Startup workshop between 28-30 March 2012 , Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister. Ali Babacan and US Ambassador Francis Ricciardone took part in the event in Istanbul.

In the event where our company is represented by our General Manager Yavuz ERGOGLU , the links of entrepreneurship , employment , welfare , freedom and innovation have been examined and the success stories on this issue have been discussed.

In his speech , Yavuz Eroğlu stated that “ firms are in their daily business, sometimes in business blindness , but these kind of activities will be able to open up the horizons of firms and improve their vision through social networks , and Turkey will reach 2023 targets by developing the entrepreneurship environment and encouraging entrepreneurs.Because entrepreneurship is indispensable for innovation and it cannot be one of the 10 economies in the world by passing the countries in front of Turkey without innovation.“

What is MIT GSW?

MIT Global Startup workshop (GSW) is the world'S first workshop to promote entrepreneurship and create entrepreneurship ecosystems around the world.

“Men et manus” (mind and hand) is enough to highlight the two most basic features that should be in an entrepreneur: the ability to achieve Vision and this vision successfully (and its determination). This system of values is the world's most powerful 11. the cost of its economy has been realized by the MIT graduates of 25,000 active companies!

Entrepreneurship potential is not limited to Massachusetts, Cambridge, but by bringing the right people together, we can ignite the worldwide entrepreneurial fire!  The MIT Global Startup workshop began 15 years ago in 1998 with the initiative of a MIT student to teach universities and organizations that support entrepreneurship how to organize successful business plan competitions. Today, with the increasing number of business plan competitions, MIT committed itself to changing its mission in GSW to develop entrepreneurship ecosystems and to create a global network of support for entrepreneurship.

MIT GSW has hosted participants from more than 60 countries in many cities of the world. Each year more than 300 people, including entrepreneurs worldwide, government officials, supporters of entrepreneurship, faculty members and entrepreneurial candidates, gather at this three-day event to discuss the entrepreneurship agenda, share good practices to build the entrepreneurship ecosystem, and become part of an international network. At MIT GSW we offer rich opportunities for entrepreneurs to express their business ideas through speeches, panels, case studies, workshops and presentations by leading architects of entrepreneurship at MIT GSW.

We find and bring the speakers who are eager to be together and spend time with the participants who have achieved great success stories. Among the important speakers of the GWS in previous years were Desh d'hpande, founder of Sycamore Networks, Sanjay Nayak, co-founder and General Manager of Tejas Networks, Robin Chase, founder of Zipcar, as well as prominent politicians who have made Entrepreneurship one of the important priorities of their nations, such as President Olafur Grimsson of Iceland.

Why Turkey?

2012 workshop'unimit Enterprise Forum Turkey, Özyeğin University,Sabanci University, General Electric (GE) and American embassy in cooperation with “New Horizons in innovation” (Directsforinnovations) Tema are taking place in Turkey.  There is a competition in the choice of countries to host MIT gswe every year. Turkey was only one of many countries that offered us an offer for the 2012 workshop.  Turkey is a developing economy with its young population and rapidly growing consumer market (17th largest in the world). the economy). In addition, Turkey is a country of political and economic importance established at the crossroads of ancient trade routes. In this regard, Turkey is destined to become a regional center of entrepreneurship and investment.

New Horizons In Innovation

This year, we will focus on how innovation affects entrepreneurship. We will discuss new technological trends, trends in the global market, and strategic trends for entrepreneurs, investors and supporting organisations. For this purpose, we will offer industry-focused panels (e.g.,biotechnology, heavy industry) as well as opportunities for companies to introduce themselves. For this purpose, we asked all our speakers who participated in our event to tell us all aspects of entrepreneurship and in detail.

Our main goal is to bring together the various players in the global entrepreneurship ecosystem. Since our participants change every year, they can't follow the entrepreneur or entrepreneurial volume created by MIT GSW, but our graduates have established many valuable links with MIT GSW, have long and lasting friendships, have started job plan competitions, have laid the foundations of various organizations that support entrepreneurship, have developed educational programs for entrepreneurship and have established new companies.
