The Turkish SEM plastic company, which has been producing catering materials to the world for long years, has developed a special plate that is not melted at 200 degrees in the oven and can be reused. for the first time next month, a porcelain-looking plastic plate, which will be tested at Pegasus Airlines, will open a new page on catering materials with its lightness and durability. 

Stating that they have been working on this project for a year, Yavuz Eroğlu, General Manager of the company, said: “airlines that want to differentiate in the catering aim to serve passengers using high quality materials such as restaurants. Plates made of recycled plastic are light, washed and reused, and are much more economical than porcelain. Many companies, including Lufthansa, are very interested in this product,” he said.

* Porcelain plate weight 600 grams. The new plates that are not drawn are 110 grams. Especially on long flights, the airline saves fuel by easing its catering equipment.

 Heavy spicy meals like curry do not change the color of the plate. It can be washed quickly and used many times.

* Food is loaded on the plane in these plastic plates instead of aluminum containers that feel like industrial kitchen. The cabin crew is offering the presentation without dealing with it.
