On November 16-17, 2011, the annual meeting of European Plastic Recycling Association was held in Barcelona, Spain.

Our foundation is 1. During the meeting, which our Vice President Yavuz Eroğlu represented, the problems of the recyclers and their solution proposals were discussed.

At the meeting, Pagev's active work in Turkey was praised for the rapid growth of Turkish Plastics Industry.

In addition, the project“ Waste Free Oceans - WFO” ,which is a joint work of the plastic industry and fishermen for the cleaning of Marine wastes, was launched in the meeting. At the opening attended by Anna Rosbach, a member of the European Parliament, Yavuz EROĞLU, our Vice President, gave information about Pagev's project on this subject. Turkey's ownership of such a project before many European countries and the fact that it has started working on the subject has been appreciated. 1. Yavuz Eroğlu, our Vice President, expressed his views about the meeting as follows: “

There are nearly 3,000 recycling companies in Europe. 300 of them do 80% of the total work.  Priority of the association;

1 - the European Parliament wants the goal of mechanical recycling to be increased to 50%.

2 - facilitating reach for recyclers.

3. to generate income in recyclers from the carbon emission market due to their positive contribution to the environment

4 - Prohibition of export of waste to the Far East in Europe

5-designing the products offered to the market on recycling

6 - plastic is not garbage and is worth a value and absolutely should not be buried solid

7 - Bioplastics reduce the quality of recycling and products to disrupt the prevention or a separate collection system to be subjected to

8 - use of more advanced technologies and systems for collection, separation and recycling of wastes

Plastic Recyclers also emphasized that recycling will increase the image of plastics and that the future is in recycling.
